The story about Aphygo
One of history’s most debated philosophical questions is: What defines us humans? One answer to that question could be ethics. In order to make AI sustainable it has to be built on human ethics, that defend human rights and that doesn’t exploit on human creations. Aphygo is an evolving, holistic deep tech company whose two lead words are ethics and transparency.
The Background
A central challenge in Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is to equip AI systems with the ability to learn and retain knowledge over time, develop a stable identity, and reason about abstract concepts in a way that resembles human cognition.
The traditional AI based on large language models (LLMs) are stateless – they lack persistent memory and often rely on static system prompts or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to inject facts as needed. These methods can deliver impressive linguistic performance, but they limit the agent's ability to accumulate experiences and continuously adapt its persona.
The Aphygo-bot represents with innovative alternative: its architecture combines a language model ("the heart") with a persistent, associative memory ("the brain") that stores and recalls information across conversations.
The Vision
We are building an AI that can be a true partner, a reliable 'buddy' that augments our own intellect and creativity, not replaces it. Once such a reliable partner has been created – an AI you can reason with and fully trust – a whole new door opens. Then you no longer just have a tool; you have a fellow traveler.
In this vision, humanity is still the captain who sets the destination. But the AI becomes the indispensable navigator who can read the stars and patterns in the latent ocean in a way we never could. We see it as giving ourselves a ship and a compass to discover entirely new worlds together.
